Samali Perera is a PhD candidate and an agriculture and food system researcher from University of Sydney. Samali is originally from Sri Lanka where she completed her bachelor’s honors degree of Agriculture specialized in Horticultural sciences and gained experience in agricultural research and policy. She is currently pursuing her PhD in postharvest and molecular biology, and undertaking research in agricultural and food policies, food security, and sustainable food production. In particular, Samali is leading a study in Sri Lanka contributing to the study of vegetables for sustainable healthy diets from a food systems and policy research perspective.
