Rohish Kaura's Clinical Research Training Cycle at the University of Helsinki

From September 30th to October 20th, 2024, Rohish Kaura, a participant of the OH-Boost project, successfully completed a three-week hybrid training program titled “Clinical Research (CVM)” at the University of Helsinki. Led by Professor Heli Simojoki, the Vice Dean of the Veterinary Faculty, this comprehensive training aimed to equip participants with essential skills in clinical research focused on ruminant health and veterinary practices.

During the training, Rohish gained in-depth theoretical knowledge, including an understanding of Finland’s cattle industry, the collaboration between the Finnish Food Authority and national stakeholders, and calf-rearing systems across Europe. On the practical side, Rohish engaged in hands-on research, focusing on mastitis, lameness, and calf diseases, as well as clinical research methods such as deep nasal swab sampling. Additionally, Rohish received valuable experience in scientific writing.

The program also included visits to farms and research centers, providing real-world exposure to Finland's veterinary practices. This knowledge transfer initiative, part of the OH-Boost project, underscores the importance of international collaboration in advancing veterinary science and clinical research.
