Professor Asgerally (Asgi) Fazleabas is a renowned expert in reproductive biology, particularly in uterine biology and its clinical translation to human implantation failure and endometriosis. He earned his bachelor’s degree from California State University and his master’s and PhD in Reproductive Physiology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, with postdoctoral training at the University of Florida. Dr. Fazleabas has held significant academic positions, including Director of the Center for Women's Health and Reproduction at the University of Illinois and, since 2009, at Michigan State University, where he has advanced women's health research. His work, funded continuously by the NIH since 1986, has led to over 250 peer-reviewed publications and global recognition. His research on maternal-fetal interactions and endometriosis has greatly impacted the field, especially by developing a non-human primate model to study these diseases.
