Shaping future Research Management: Insights from Dr. Mikael Niku’s Study Visit to Tartu
This summer, Dr. Mikael Niku from the University of Helsinki visited Tartu, helping us improve our post-project activities and sustainability plans. During his stay, he visited the labs and facilities of the University of Tartu and the EMU, seeing our research environment firsthand.
On 30th July 2025, Dr. Niku led an expert consultation session on “Branding and Visibility” with staff from the Estonian University of Life Sciences. The discussion focused on the importance of building a strong academic identity and increasing visibility in both science and public platforms. Participants explored how using journals, social media, and professional networks can raise the impact of research and open opportunities for collaboration.
On 5th August 2025, he joined another session on “Engaging Stakeholders and Sharing Research Findings”. The conversation highlighted how to communicate research effectively to different audiences—industry partners, policymakers, students, and fellow researchers—to increase the impact of our work.
We thank Dr. Niku and our partners for their support, which helps us learn from the best, improve our strategies, and build a sustainable and impactful research environment.
