OH-BOOST Team advances business planning for One Health innovations
As part of the OH-BOOST project’s ongoing efforts to support commercialization pathways for One Health innovations, on the 10th of June 2025, the consortium held a focused workshop on research exploitation and business planning. The meeting explored potential business models based on the team’s work with extracellular vesicles (EVs), microbiota diversity, and non-invasive diagnostic tools.
Participants discussed key commercialization challenges, including technology readiness levels (TRLs), patent opportunities, market potential, and ethical considerations such as alternatives to animal testing. Special attention was given to scalability planning and aligning research with industry needs.
Knowledge Transfer Coordinator from EMU, Sébastien Langui, led the session, highlighting the importance of early-stage market analysis, scenario development, and business model training. The team also considered opportunities to collaborate with industry partners, develop future training products, and prepare patent applications based on innovative uses of EVs.
This workshop marked a step forward in OH-BOOST’s strategy to build strong commercialization foundations and support the transition of One Health research into impactful, real-world applications.
