Bio: Carola Niesler is an Associate Professor of Biochemistry in the School of Agriculture and Sciences, University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and also advises for NEXT Biosciences, a South African biotech company working in the sphere of stem cells and biologics as well as genetic and pathology testing. She received her PhD from the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, University of Cambridge, UK, and has more than 25 years’ experience in the research area of stem cells and the application of their cellular products in the broader context of regenerative medicine. As an established scientist, she has graduated more than 60 postgraduate students and published more than 40 internationally peer-reviewed articles that relate to regeneration in health and disease.
