The policy planning workshops, gathering all project partners, held on 20 November 2025, focused on exchanging theoretical perspectives and developing practical skills relevant to One Health policy work.
Discussions explored the role of participating in public events such as festivals, seminars, and the importance of maintaining constructive relationships with authorities. Participants also reflected on regional differences in implementing One Health policies, noting the need for approaches that take local contexts into account.
Some participants noted challenges observed in certain contexts, such as limited involvement from human medical clinicians and gaps in coordination between sectors. In response, the idea of reframing discussions from One Health to Planetary Health was considered as a way to encourage broader professional engagement. The importance of regular annual meetings and multi-level engagement strategies was also emphasised as valuable tools for supporting ongoing collaboration.
In the practical sessions, participants shared methods for building connections with government advisors and policymakers through festivals and engagement events. They also exchanged strategies for aligning policymakers and academia in various regions, approaches to improving collaboration between health disciplines, and techniques for organising regular meetings to collect and summarise ideas and opinions.
